Do I need to be in Canada to attend?

No. Teachers inside or outside Canada can attend. The webinar covers Canadian immigration pathways and teacher licensing, including the Nova Scotia process.

How much work experience do I need for the Education category?

For the current category requirements, you need at least 12 months of full-time work experience, or an equal amount of part-time experience, within the past 3 years in one of the listed occupations. The experience can be from Canada or abroad.

Do I need a job offer in Canada?

Not necessarily. Express Entry program eligibility does not generally require a job offer for the Canadian Experience Class or Federal Skilled Worker Program, although a valid job offer can affect certain aspects of eligibility or points depending on the program and current rules.

Do I need a teaching license before I can immigrate to Canada?

Not necessarily. Immigration eligibility and teacher licensing are two different processes.

The webinar will explain the difference and how teacher certification fits into your plan to work as a teacher in Canada.

Can I become a teacher in Nova Scotia if I am trained outside Canada?

The webinar will explain the Nova Scotia teacher-certification process for internationally educated teachers, including what you need to prepare and what steps you need to take.
